Diversity Conference at IHCC Ottumwa

"Serving Immigrant Populations: A Library Prototype for Diversity" a nationally broadcast teleconference that is part of the 2006 DuPage Soaring to Excellence Series will be included in the Indian Hills Community College Second Annual Diversity Conference on Friday, April 7th, 2006. The two-hour broadcast will examine how to assess the needs of your library's immigrant population, English as a second language materials, legal issues, work issues, and bi-lingual library resources.

The Diversity Conference is open to everyone, and will feature many informative sessions on serving diverse populations. There is no registration fee, and lunch will be provided to all conference participants at no charge.

Presenters will discuss diversity and its relationship to topics such as religion, health, age, education, disability, immigration, education, gender and the workforce. The conference starts at 8:30 a.m. and the last session is over at 3:00 p.m. All sessions except for the library session will be held in Efner Hall (Bldg. A).
